In the Primary, N'Kayla Thomas received 45.2% of the vote and Jim Priest
was 2nd with 23.9%.Since neither Jim Priest nor N'Kayla Thomas received
more than 50% of the votes in the primary, they will have a run-off on August 25th.
Whoever wins the run-off will face a massive challenge if they are to
beat out the GOP candidate, Kevin Hern. In the Republican primary,
there were almost 192,000 votes cast. In the Democratic Primary, there
were almost 169,000 votes cast. This means there is a 23,000 vote deficit
for the Democrats going into the general election. This is going to require
a really big effort if we hope to flip this seat in this election!
